I recently came back from an extended vacation…I’ll show lots of pictures from the trip soon…However I couldn’t resist showing some pics of Marfa, TX first….

Marfa is very small town, literally in the middle of the desert…best know as the film location of James Dean last movie in 1956, ” Giant ” with Rock Hudson and Elizabeth Taylor….

It’s also well known for the permanent sculpture of a Prada store by Berlin artists Michael Elmgreen and Ingar Dragset , installed on a very long road in the desert with nothing else around it…here is a link to a Times article about the project…

For years I’ve wanted to visit Marfa just to see this piece of art…however even though I visit Dallas often and have a ranch in New Mexico…Marfa is a dedicated trip believe me!

Yet this vacation was planned around a road trip to Marfa, we flew into Dallas Fort Worth rented a car and headed nine hours due southwest to Marfa, literally just to see this Artist Installation of a Prada Store!

Here’s a video that puts it all into perspective…

Here are some of my Instagram pics of Marfa…

Some Marfa Arm Candy…

A town in Texas ain’t a town without a water tower…

As Always…Love
