Ok, so we’re moving into spring, lol…I’m a bird…and Nests are where we live….
In the spirit of nurturing ourselves, our environments being a key part of who we are, how we dress and move out into the world….
I thought I’d share more from my home, my collections, my nests…
I’ve been collecting birds nests for a very long time, mostly from the properties I’ve owned, always careful to get the nests that my feathered friends abandon, some birds like to return to their old nests, while others like to make new one’s…
Maybe a lot like our, excitement to clean in the spring, getting things all fresh and new after winter…
This little cutie I got from my property in Maryland… I’ve placed one of my favorite egg shaped rocks, collected from Gay Head beach, on the Vineyard, and a favorite found black and white feather…
I keep it displayed under this glass dome… to me these little beauties deserve to be displayed, as you would a piece of art…lol…they are!
The next nest was gifted from an artist friend, who lives in Santa Fe, I was visiting her one Sunday, she’s a painter and also builds garden sculptures from all sorts of found materials…
the nest was formed in the right angle of a piece of the steel sheeting, which accounts for it’s unusual shape…here’s a pic of her sculpture…
and the exact place that this gift was formed…
every year the birds build a new one in this sculpture, so this one is now apart of my collection…
the angles of this glass dish make a perfect display along with my little potpourri of dried orchids…
What reminds you of spring?
As Always…Much Love
